Superfecta is an exotic bet, based on the parimutuel betting principle, in which the bettor must pick the first four horses that will finish the race. Like Trifecta, where the bettor must pick the first three finishers, in Superfecta the bettor must pick the horses in the exact order to win the wager.
Because the number of possible combination is higher then Trifecta, the chances to win are smaller, so the Superfecta has higher payoff than other bets. Usually, Superfecta bets include boxes and wheels with multiple combination of horses. The most simple bet is a straight Superfecta, for example 2-5-1-7. This bet will payoff if the outcome of the race is exact, meaning that horse number 2 will finish the first, 5 will finish the second, 1 will finish the third and 7 will finish the fourth.
A Superfecta box will payoff if the four horses picked finnish the race on the first four positions, but in any order. The box covers all possible combination with the four horses, so the exact order does not count, but the bet is expensive. A Superfecta box with $1 per combination goes up to $24. Because of the extremely large number of combination that can be played with Superfecta, this type of bets can be quite expensive. This is why some bookmakers offer Superfecta bets as low as $0.10 per combination. If you want to try out your horse race betting skills, one of the best places to do that is at Ladbrokes, one of the best horse race bookmakers. Here you can find all kinds of bets, including Superfecta. |
