Exacta betting strategy was considered at first an exotic betting system, but over the time it became a very popular one. Exacta has three types of bets, and all are quite easy to understand.
The first type of bet is the Straight Exacta, where you have to pick the horses for the first and second place in the race and they must finish in exactly that order. Any other race outcome turns the Exacta bet into a lost one.
The next type of bet is Exacta Box, that covers both horse combinations. This means that the two horses chosen must finish in the first two positions but the exact order doesn’t count. You can include in the Exacta Box as many horses as you wish, but the more you pick, the bet will cost more more expensive and the profit will be smaller or even negative. A 2$ Exacta Box on two horses will cost $4. The Exacta Wheel goes even further because you pick one horse to win and two or more horses to finish on the second place. The cost of the Exacta Wheel depends on the number of horses picked. A $2 bet on one winning horse and other three horses that could finish on the second place would cost $6. |
